About

In Vasastan, on the corner of Luntmakargatan and Kungstensgatan in Stockholm, I opened my very own interior shop, Bientôt, on 27 April 2024. In a beautiful 18th century corner space with large windows and a striking brick vault, I’ve created my own world of colour, inspiration and treasures from France, Italy and other parts of the world.

Here you’ll find pieces with traditional patterns from Italy, Spain, France and India. Many of my items take the shape of shells, fruit or vegetables. I like the unexpected and I don’t believe a bowl always has to be just a bowl.

So if you’re looking for inspiration to bring more colour into your home and love my British American interior style, full of objects, symmetry and a cosy atmosphere, or simply enjoy things in unexpected shapes, you’ve come to the right place!

THE FOUNDER

My name is Sebastian Bergström, and I’m the founder and owner of Bientôt. Besides running the shop, I write a blog for ELLE and work as an interior influencer. For many years I’ve been inspiring people to embrace colour through my Instagram @mosebacke and my own home, a place filled with colour, vintage pieces and things I love.

My background in interior design is quite short, as I have no formal education or previous experience in the industry. I’m self-taught, and everything I know comes from years of decorating. Growing up, I was always involved in designing the interiors of the house I lived in, and even today I’m the one redecorating and bringing in something new. That opportunity my parents gave me has truly paved the way for my career in interiors.

Paris

In the autumn of 2022, my Jack Russell Herman and I lived in Paris. I knew I was about to take a new direction in my career, but before that I wanted to taste a little bit of my dream of living in Paris. There, I found daily inspiration, and we lived a dream life that I think about every single day.

When we returned home, my plan was to open an interior studio – until one day it clicked, and I realised I wanted to start my own interior shop instead. It took just over a year to find the right space, and if it hadn’t been for a late-night ad on Blocket in November 2023, I would probably have opened in a building at the old Seamen’s Institute on Södermalm.

But then a 60-square-metre corner space appeared in cosy Vasastan – and luckily it did, because this place is everything I could ever have dreamed of.

The Name

A few years earlier, I had the idea of creating an online vintage shop, and my sister came up with the name Bientôt, which became the working title. After a few weeks I put the idea on hold. When I later decided to open a physical shop, I couldn’t think of a better name – so in the end, I simply went with Bientôt.

The name means “soon” in French. À bientôt means “see you soon.” I love the name visually, and I always think “À bientôt, Paris” – because one day I’ll live there again. Until then, I have my shop, which carries a little spirit of Parisand many of the things I sell are pieces I discovered there.
